Employee Spotlight: Get to know Jessica Tucker!

Renaissance Rentals is staffed by a diverse team of local professionals. In our employee spotlight blog series, we’ll be highlighting the talented individuals that help to make our company Bloomington’s most trusted local landlord!

Before starting with Renaissance Rentals, Jessica gained experience with leasing at a handful of other property management companies. We’re glad she ended up with us because she brings excellent customer service skills and so much more to our company! Jessica’s currently the brand manager of the Covenanter Hill Neighborhood District but has also served as the manager for our Scholar’s brand of communities, which includes Scholar’s Rock, Scholar’s Quad, and Scholar’s Rooftop. To help you learn more about Jessica, I’ve asked her some “getting to know you” questions.

1.) What is your favorite local restaurant?

“My favorite local restaurant is Uptown Cafe. It is a Bloomington staple and has been around for over 30 years! You can go sit at the bar for casual dining or have an elegant meal in the main dining room. Also, I had my wedding rehearsal dinner there so Uptown holds amazing memories for me.”

2.) Do you have have any pets? Tell us about them!

“I have three pets: two cats, Milo and Lola, and a dog named Tucker! Milo is black and white, loves to go outside, and begs for food more than our dog does. Lola is a tabby and has a lot of personality – she’s always wanting to be held or pet! Our dog is a sweet pup named Tucker. Naturally, we were drawn to adopt him because his name is the same as our last name. We fell in love immediately and he was the perfect addition to our family!”

3.) What advice might you give to someone searching for an apartment?

“I have three pieces of advice: 1.) Don’t settle for the first apartment you see or like. Look around and let the leasing consultant find the perfect apartment for you. 2.) Don’t be afraid to ask questions of leasing staff, and finally 3.) ALWAYS get renters insurance!”

4.) Everyone’s got a guilty pleasure. What’s yours?

“My guilty pleasure is reality TV. I’m addicted to Real Housewives!”

5.) What is your favorite season of the year?

“My favorite season is Spring! It’s my favorite because the weather is perfect for being outside for a hike or walk with my husband and dog!”

6.) If you could travel to any part of the world, where would you go?

“I would travel to Italy. My heritage is over half Italian, and so I would love to go and learn more about where my family came from.”

7.) How long have you lived in the Bloomington area and what do you like most about it?

“I have lived in Bloomington since I was nine years old. Before that, I lived in Washington DC, which was very different. As I grew up, I came to realize that Bloomington is a little slice of heaven, and is the place I want to raise children. You get the big city feel when you’re downtown, but just drive 15 minutes and you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, ready to explore!”

8.) What is your favorite part about working at Renaissance Rentals?

“My favorite thing about working for Renaissance Rentals is the real sense of community that we’ve established. Even as our company grows, we’re always putting effort into maintaining the small company feel, building rapport with your residents. They become more like family or friends rather than customers.”
