Renaissance Rentals is staffed by a diverse team of local professionals. In our employee spotlight blog series, we’ll be highlighting the talented individuals that help to make our company Bloomington’s most trusted local landlord!
Kirsten Carter is an assistant brand manager at our SummerHouse at Indiana community. She’s one of our most tenacious employees and, with a degree in Human Physiology, is a positive influence on us all when it comes to making good exercise and wellness decisions. To help you learn more about Kirsten, I’ve asked her some “getting to know you” questions.
1.) What is your favorite local restaurant?
“My favorite restaurant in Bloomington is The Tap! My husband and I love their appetizers, especially their pretzel sticks, Tap Fries, and Tap Tots. My favorite entree (that I get every time) are the shrimp tacos. My husband and I are always craving food and drinks from The Tap!”
2.) What is your favorite TV show?
“I’m obsessed with Game of Thrones! The last season starts soon and I couldn’t be more excited. GoT is the only show I will re-watch – I just can’t get enough of the drama! My favorite character is Daenerys, the one and only dragon queen!”
3.) Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!
“I have two dogs, Shaylee & Ella. Shaylee is the boss of the house and Ella is our hyper, attention-seeking, Goldendoodle! Fortunately, they get along well and love each other and we love them because they are our fur-children!”
4.) What advice might you give a new renter at SummerHouse?
“My advice is to not be afraid to stop by our office! We love visitors and it’s especially nice to catch up with our residents and learn more about them! We have drinks and candy to offer, so drop in anytime!”
5.) What is your favorite time of year?
“Definitely the summer months. Usually, we have a few weddings and other weekend events to attend and I love laying out in the sun by the pool!”
6.) Where are you from?
“I’m originally from a small town in Iowa called Solon. It’s a great place and I love that everyone knows each other. I graduated from the University of Iowa which is about 10 minutes down the road from my hometown – Go Hawks!”
7.) If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?
“I’d have dinner with my mom. Since moving to Bloomington, I do not get to see her very often with 6 hours between us. I don’t think I properly appreciated the time I spent with her when I lived in Iowa, so I jump at any opportunity to spend quality time together!”
8.) Of all the floorplans and apartments our company offers, which is your favorite?
“My favorite would be the Klasina at the Cape Dutch Villas. It’s got it all: attached 2-car garage, it’s dog-friendly, and best of all it has the great room and kitchen on the top floor! I also love that the Cape Dutch Villas are relatively new, with contemporary finishes.”
