Renaissance Rentals is staffed by a diverse team of local professionals. In our employee spotlight blog series, we’ll be highlighting the talented individuals that help to make our company Bloomington’s most trusted local landlord!
Patrick is the brand manager of SummerHouse at Indiana, and has worked for Renaissance Rentals for about 11 years! Naturally, all that experience makes Patrick a pro when it comes to leasing and customer service. Fun fact: Patrick is one of two Renaissance employees with a twin! To help you learn more about Patrick, I’ve asked him some “getting to know you” questions.
1.) What is your favorite local restaurant?
“Siam House. You can’t beat their $9 lunch buffet!”
2.) What is your favorite sport and do you have a favorite sports team?
“I grew up playing many different sports, but basketball is my favorite. The ‘Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers’ are my go-to team.”
3.) What advice might you give to someone searching for an apartment?
“Always be on the lookout for the warning signs of a slumlord when touring. Here’s a few: 1.) The community and apartments don’t look well cared for. 2.) The landlord isn’t easy to communicate with. 3.) The rent seems too good to be true. 4.) The online reviews are poor.”
4.) Everyone’s got a guilty pleasure. What’s yours?
“Mine is an Oreo Blizzard with pecans from Dairy Queen. I love the combination of sweet and salty!”
5.) Where are you from?
“I’m originally from Portage, IN, which is mostly known for its steel mills and close proximity to Lake Michigan. I highly recommend a weekend trip to Indiana Dunes National Park. You could be lying on a beautiful beach in just a 3-hour drive from Bloomington! Contact me anytime if you’d like to know the choice spots.”
6.) If you could travel to any part of the world, where would you go?
“I’d want to travel to Argentina. I’d go for its diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and steak.”
7.) What is your favorite movie?
“There Will Be Blood with Daniel Day Lewis. I tend to enjoy films that create a foreboding mood, and that have a jolting ending. This one fits that bill.”
8.) What is your favorite part about working at Renaissance Rentals?
“I enjoy very much that we’re a local company, made up of local people who actually care. The people doing this work everyday are the ones making the decisions, so there is none of the corporate disconnect that you often see with larger, corporately owned management companies.”
