Answer : Short Answer... Yes! You will want to call each utility that you pay for before you move-out. Make sure to have the utility trasferred out of your name on the day your lease ends, and not before.
If you have cable, phone, or internet, you'll want to make sure you call those companies as well
Answer : At the move-out inspection, we ask that you return all keys that were given to you (house, mail box, storage, community room, bike storage).
If you had a garage with a remote, please return the remote.
If you have any unpaid rent or fees, we will ask that you pay that at move-out.
If there were ice trays when you moved in, please make sure those are in the freezer when you move-out.
If there were internet cords it your utility closet when you moved-in, please leave those plugged in the wall of the closet.
Lastly, we'll ask you for a forwarding address, so we can send you your security deposit letter.
Answer : We prefer that you are there, but we do not require you to be there. If you are not going to be there, make sure all the items listed on the above question have been returned to us.
