For Parents
Answer : Responsibilities:
As a cosigner, you are agreeing to be financially liable and personally guarentee any/all payments of rent, unpaid utility bills, damage caused to apartment by lessee(s) & any other fines or fees allowed by the lease.
Rights as a cosigner:
In the event a lessee has defaulted on a payment, the cosigner will have the right to access information regarding the outstanding balance only.
The cosigner will not have a right to negotiate lease terms, access lease information or terms, access personal information about the lessee(s) or access the apartment.
We will respect the privacy of the lessee(s). If you, as a cosgner, have specific questions about the lease, please ask the lessee to contact us directly.
We are well aware that most of the cosigners are the parents of the lessee(s). There are many instances in which parents (who may or may not be a cosigner) believe they are entitled to information regarding their child's lease with our company, but that is not the case. If you, as a parent or cosigner, have an issue with the lease agreement, please have the lessee contact us.
