Renaissance Rentals is staffed by a diverse team of local professionals. In our employee spotlight blog series, we’ll be highlighting the talented individuals that help to make our company Bloomington’s most trusted local landlord!
Kara is the brand manager of the MeadowCreek Neighborhood and Verona Park, which includes our Porto Flats and Cape Dutch Villas. Before becoming manager at MeadowCreek, Kara was a leasing consultant at the Covenanter Hill Neighborhood District and SummerHouse at Indiana, so she’s got a lot of experience! To help you learn more about Kara, I’ve asked her some “getting to know you” questions.
1.) What is your favorite local restaurant?
“Scenic View off of IN-446. It’s a small place, but they always have delicious food and great views, especially in the fall! Great date night location.”
2.) Do you have have any pets? Tell us about them!
“I have a dog named Babbs! She’s a mini Goldendoodle, but just looks like a mini golden retriever. We go on hikes in Brown County a lot and she gives the best kisses!”
3.) How long have you lived in the Bloomington area and what do you like most about it?
“I’ve lived here for about 6 years. There’s always something to do and, being the food lover that I am, I love all the great restaurants! You get the small town feel with big city benefits.”
4.) What is your favorite season of the year?
“Spring. By. Far! This is the time of year you are able to get outside, hike, hunt for morel mushrooms if you’re cool (no, I’m not telling you my secret spot), smell the freshly blooming flowers, AND it’s just the beginning of warm temperatures. What’s not to love?”
5.) What advice might you give to someone searching for an apartment?
“Check the Google reviews for every location you’re interested in. Also, there is no such thing as too many questions! Rent is most likely your largest monthly payment, so it’s important to find a community that will provide a comfortable, positive experience.”
6.) What is your favorite thing about working at Renaissance Rentals?
“I love getting to know my residents and creating a memorable experience for them. I’m constantly gnawing on ideas to improve their stays, whether someone is staying with us for just a year or fifteen!”
7.) If you could travel to any part of the world, where would you go?
“I’d go to the Swiss Alps. It looks like the most beautiful place on the planet and I bet there’s some great hiking out there!”
8.) Of all the floorplans and apartments our company offers, do you have a favorite?
“That is a tough one! I’d have to go with the Carriage House at MeadowCreek. It is a stand-alone 1-bedroom apartment with an attached garage. It has all sorts of hidden storage. I am all for it!”
